Can I fully close the door?
If you can fit 2 credit cards between your door, and the door jamb, Yes!
What about MY dog?
If your dog is over 22 lbs, (the size of a beagle) this is the perfect latch for you. Dogs under 20 lbs are touch-and-go. It depends on how determined the dog is to get through the door, and how wide the dog is. If your dog is smaller than a cat, this will not work for your dog. If you order the latch, and your dog is right on the line, just return the latch, and we'll refund your money. (Minus shipping costs.)
Do I need special tools?
You will need a helper to hold the latch, and a #1 Philips screwdriver. All other hardware is included.
